Mike St John Green

Independent Information Security Expert


Mike St. John-Green is an active consultant in cyber security, currently working with clients in the City of London and Europe. He is the technical advisor to the Information Security Forum, which publishes the internationally-recognised Standard of Good Practice, works with the IAEA, IEC and many other well-known organisations as a subject matter expert. He has also worked with private and public sector organisations on the role of the board in managing risk and opportunity arising from cyberspace.

Mike retired in 2013 after 39 years in UK government, at GCHQ and then in the Office of Cyber Security and Information Assurance in the Cabinet Office. His roles in GCHQ included deputy director CESG, the Information Assurance arm of GCHQ.

Mike is a frequent speaker and writer on the topic of cyber security. He co-authored a book on Cyber Resilience published in June 2015. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the IET. He became an Honorary Fellow of the University of Warwick in 2014.
